For all three of you who are still interested, I’m with you in spirit. There are so many things on my mind right now that I want to put forth into the world, but I don’t have time.

This newspaper writing is dense stuff. Strunk and White dictate every word, and my editor dictates what those words say.  

I’m not sure how much of my professional life will leak into the blog. I don’t think my editor has really thought about it either. As well as providing samples, I directed her here and she has read it. I already told her I was opinionated on it. She didn’t ask me to stop, she didn’t ask me to change what I do. But did she think about me picking up these stories?

In the newspaper I can’t express an opinion. Here, I can. Readership may overlap. Certainly I will link to my articles, but you may find them uninteresting. I write local news about schools here.

The people most likely to google my name are those I’ve done a story on. And there is another thing. Now I have the ‘upper hand’ as far as information goes. I interview these people. They tell me about their lives, and I will write a public story about them. But they know nothing about me.

I hope I serve the community well.
